Yong Shing Restaurant

In a land swap with the town of Auburn, the Yong Shing restaurant was relocated to a new expanded facility. The design respects the principles of Feng Shui and subtly expresses Chinese influences. Located on a very tight lot, the owner successfully petitioned for a variance on parking requirements. Complex coordination with the kitchen equipment and furnishings supplier was required to ensure the project was completed expeditiously, even through difficult winter construction conditions.

Fan-Warsaw Residence

A blend of eastern and western influences inspired this design to reflect the cultural backgrounds of the owners. Interior spaces were carefully designed to accommodate the acoustical needs of the musician-owner. A meditation loft was provided for Buddhist meditation. Under-floor radiant heating was installed throughout. Located in a planned community, exterior materials and colors conformed to required standards.

Collins Residence

Major alterations and additions transformed both the exterior appearance and the interior spaces of this house. A wrap-around porch and a guest room were added to the front and an extended family room and deck were added to the rear. The interior strairway and entrance foyer were reconfigured to provide a more open and welcoming space upon entry. The driveway was redesigned to provide a guest parking area and stone walls and paving added finishing touches to the project.

Borovick Residence

This new 4,500 SF home was designed to meet the needs of a growing family while respecting their limited budget. Although traditional in appearance, the house was planned for the modern family with its large open living areas and very few formal rooms. The stairway is not located in the front foyer, but in the family room where it is much more functional. A large guest suite over the garage was designed to anticipate caring for elderly parents in the future. A playroom above the family room provides a secluded space just for the children.

Robertson Residence

An addition and major reconfiguration of this private residence in Bolton left only two rooms untouched. The design dramatically opened up the original saltbox, in the back, to bring in natural light and provide clear views of wooded conservation land.
